Ancient Greek Vessels: Kids Tour
Ancient Greek Vessels: Pattern and Image
KIDS TOUR
The Trout Gallery
May 22 – September 26, 2015
Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in ancient Greece? Studying ancient Greek vessels tells us a lot about life in ancient Greece. Not only does the shape of different vessels tell us what they might have been used for, but the images upon them also inform us about their significance in ancient Greek culture. On this tour, kids will learn about mythical beasts, ancient Greek legends, and traditions for honoring Greek gods, as well as how ancient Greeks used these vessels in everyday life. An education project by archaeology major Christina Errico ’15, this tour provides a kid-friendly introduction to the ancient Greek world.
